Orlando Water or Plumbing Leak? Here's What To Do

Even a small water leak, especially one you can't see, can create serious damage and a health hazard if it's not detected and repaired in a timely manor.  It is important to stay proactive.  Water leaks don't fix themselves; they continue to get worse, waste water and money. The Leak Doctor offers affordable solutions to your leaking problems.

If you think you have a water leak but now sure where, here is what to do

Turn off all the faucets and water using appliances on the property.  If you can hear water running, you probably have a leak.

Next, check your water meter. With everything still turned off, the meter should not be registering. Take a picture of it with your smart phone.  Wait a couple of hours, without using any water, and check the meter again. If the number is larger than the first time or the low flow indicator is still spinning, you have a water leak. For more on how to read your meter, visit Smart Home Water Guide

For leaks hiding between walls, in the ceiling, or under the ground

Ensure the source of the leak is detected. This may take some professional help. The latest technology can save you money.  Instead of needlessly tearing into walls or digging up the floor, these advancements can detect a water leak without destruction. Which saves you money and repairs much easier.

It is equally important to make sure all the necessary repairs are made and any mold is properly cleaned up.

Significant water leaks

Make sure the main water supply is turned off to minimize the damage. Clean up as much water as you can in a safe manner. Identify the source of the water. If you are unable to find the source, contact the Leak Doctor.  You may also want to document the damage and contact your insurance company.
